Pulau Mamutik … 2 days 1 night

December 22, 2008

The 15 acres (61,000 m2) island makes Mamutik the smallest of the park. Pulau Mamutik is located off the coast of downtown Kota Kinabalu. Despite being the smallest, the island offers some good beaches and coral reefs. It also has a jetty, a 3 bedroom resthouse for rent, and staff quarters for Rangers station. If you had allready got a tent or camp .. you can camp near the beach for about RM 8 ringgit per camp. Facilities include changing rooms, toilets, picnic shelters, tables and barbecue pits. Fresh water and electricity are available.

Usually it will take around 15-20 minute to take you to the island by boat from the  Jesselton Point jetty (formerly Sabah Port Authority ferry terminal) from which tour boats are available for hire to get to the island. The rental is charged per boat, which can range anywhere between RM100 and RM200. One boat can fit 4-6 people.
Beside the Pulau Mamutik … there are another island around near it … the islands is Pulau Gaya, Pulau Sapi, Pulau Manukan, Pulau Sulug.
